Psalm 105:23-28

The history of the Israelites is a testimony of God’s promise, provision, and protection. God has His own reasons for those whom He picks for His purposes. Wisdom and discernment help to recognize the hand of God that we may be careful not to oppose it or get in the way of that providence. Things don’t have to make sense, they just have to be God.

Pharaoh found out the hard way, as did Nebuchadnezzar, that God rules from heaven. And Gamaliel had enough sense to instruct the Sanhedrin to be careful in their treatment of the apostles suggesting that if their movement was of human origin, it would fail, but if it was from God, they would find themselves fighting against God.

God uses the most unlikely of people, at times, to accomplish His purposes. Even God cautions us in Isaiah 46:9-10:

“Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭46‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

That should cause us to pause and consider God in all things for it doesn’t matter what we plan but rather what He wills that matters. As Proverbs 19:21 reminds us:

“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Save yourself some time and aggravation - go to God first and ask Him what the plan is and you will find that His way is blessed.
