Psalm 119:89-96

God’s Word is eternal. It is unchanging and unbending. According to Psalm 138:2, God magnifies His Word even above His name. What that tells me is that God means what He says and is completely integrous—His promises are true and can be trusted.

Everything serves His plans. Even if we don’t think we are part of His plans, we are. Don’t you want to know what role you are meant to play?

Something to keep in mind found in Proverbs 16:4:

“The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And consider Psalm 76:10:

“Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭76‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

That must really burn the evildoer—that in their defiance of God, He has already factored it in for His glory! Consider the role Pharaoh played when God delivered the Israelites from his power, or Haman, who thought he would rid the world of the Jewish people, only to be destroyed by the very means he had prepared to use against Mordecai. We still tell these stories, and they serve as reminders not to end up on the wrong side of history, so to speak.

EVERYTHING serves His purposes. This is a concept that bothers most independent thinkers for they want to be the masters of their own destiny. Yet we are not even responsible for being here in the first place. Life is such a gift. What we do with it is our gift back to our Creator.

How do we want to be remembered?
