Psalm 96:11-13

As I read this, I am grateful that the Lord indeed came to give us a glimpse of what true life is and to reconnect us with the Father. Yet I am also thankful that He is indeed coming again for that is His promise. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with truth.

Jesus Christ, while here, told many parables to the crowds, one being the Parable of the Wheat and Weeds. Later, when they were alone, the disciples asked Him to explain this parable to them. Jesus response is found in Matthew 13:37-43:

“Jesus replied, “The Son of Man is the farmer who plants the good seed. The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one. The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels. “Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!”

Who told this story? Jesus! Can He be trusted to tell the truth? ?Absolutely! He is the embodiment of truth and cannot lie which means this IS going to happen. We need to wake up and examine our life’s state in the light of such an eventuality. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

There is coming a day when Jesus is going to return. Notice, He says that the angels will remove everything that causes sin and all who do evil. We live in a day and age where evil is touted as good and good is touted as evil and many are caught up in this deception. There is a cry for tolerance of things ungodly at its root and yet when good people try and warn others of the impending doom for those who continue in sin, they are scoffed at and in some cases attacked. They crucified the Lord. What makes us think that we will get any better treatment?

The words of the Apostle Paul always come back to me where he says in Galatians 4:16:

“Have I now become your enemy because I am telling you the truth?”

Truth is the mortal enemy of lies. Satan, who is the father of lies (Jesus’ words), is up to no good in the hearts of man and will do everything in his power to keep us in the dark and away from hearing the truth. Not only that, he attacks those who tell the truth to shut them up.

Interesting how in our world at present, we find ourselves in an information war. Fact checkers appeared out of nowhere to try and silence opposing views and censorship was in full swing. Why? There was truth that was emerging that threatened the ‘state’ narrative. Lies that had been put in place began to unravel under scrutiny as the truth began to shed light on what was really going on.

Error in our thinking always gets  challenged when confronted with the truth. It is then that we must decide what to believe. Be careful about what you believe for as Jesus said in Matthew 6:22-23:

““Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

That is a scary thought,  to consider the possibility that what we believe to be truth is actually a lie.

That is why we go to the source of truth. The Bible was written for our instruction and those trained by is as Hebrews 5:14 states, “gain the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong”. Not only that but we have the Holy Spirit as 1 John 2:27 states:

“But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.”

The truth is out there but don’t think it will be delivered to you on a platter. You must search for it; and having found it, you must keep it close to your heart that you do not fall prey to the enemy’s deception.
