Psalm 113:1-4

I often think about what it will be like when we stand face to face with the Lord. How can we not praise Him? Who has done more for us? He knows things about ourselves that we have yet to discover. He ordained for us to be alive at this exact time in history, perfectly positioned for His purposes. He knows the end from the beginning; in fact, He shares it with us.

Consider Isaiah 46:9-10:

“Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭46‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Who doesn’t want to know about their future? People foolishly turn to horoscopes, palm readers, crystal ball gazing—all forms of divination (witchcraft)—while God, who is the real deal, waits to be asked. The Creator of the universe invites us to know Him, but all too often we look for answers in all the wrong places.

Jeremiah 29:13 states:

“If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

God is serious about being known but we must be serious about knowing Him. We must seek Him with our whole heart, with everything in our being. And when we are privileged to find and experience Him, praise, wonder, fear, and awe are all natural and appropriate responses.

As we take time to consider all His works and wonders, praise erupts from our spirit and soul. There is never a wrong time to praise the Lord. Even in the difficult times, offering a sacrifice of praise is often the catalyst for breakthrough—because when we praise, God shows up.
