Psalm 103:6-12

God rights all wrongs. He sees all things and His justice will not allow things to remain unrectified. Yet His mercy and unfailing love is also very great for those who fear Him. That is the condition however: we must fear Him. Not everyone fears the Lord and yet somehow they think they will get in on this promise.
Without saying any names, I remember a well known televangelist who had to do some time in prison for misappropriating money. Another minister close to him went to see him in prison and asked him a very pointed question. The question was: “When did you stop loving God?” To which his response was, “I never stopped loving God, I stopped fearing Him.”
No matter how close we may think we are to God, we can never forget who He is. The Bible doesn’t say that the ‘love’ of God is the beginning of all wisdom; rather it says that the ‘fear’ of God is the beginning of all wisdom.
Fear is an interesting word. Most of the time, people view it as being afraid; but in this biblical context, it means to have reverence, awe, and respect for God, acknowledging His power, authority, holiness, and justice, and obediently living in ways that honor Him. If we truly love Him, we will obey Him.
Jesus said: “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)
Somehow, I don’t think that was a suggestion. To love Him is to keep His commandments. Any other ‘love’ is just lip service.
God knows who belongs to Him and whose hearts truly fear Him.
We can say we have faith, but in the words of James in James 2:17:
“So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”
James 2:17 NLT

The Gospel is transformational. It is meant to change us from the inside out. If there had been no transformation, salvation is in question because we cannot be connected to the vine and not bear fruit.
In the words of Jesus:
““I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”
John 15:1-2 NLT

Should we fear the truth of these words? Absolutely! Because the One who said it does not lie!
In the words of my husband, “Don’t pretend to be someone you don’t intend to be.”
Food for thought……
