Psalm 105.7-15

God always stands by His covenant. History has proved over and over again that God can be trusted to come through on His promises.
Taken from Numbers chapter 23, the following exchange was recorded when Kjng Balak tried to hire Balaam to curse Israel:
“This was the message Balaam delivered: “Balak summoned me to come from Aram; the king of Moab brought me from the eastern hills. ‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me! Come and announce Israel’s doom.’ But how can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord has not condemned?…. This was the message Balaam delivered: “Rise up, Balak, and listen! Hear me, son of Zippor. God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Listen, I received a command to bless; God has blessed, and I cannot reverse it! No misfortune is in his plan for Jacob; no trouble is in store for Israel. For the Lord their God is with them; he has been proclaimed their king. God brought them out of Egypt; for them he is as strong as a wild ox. No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’”

I love that line: “Has He ever spoken and failed to act?”
We can rest assured that God will do what He says He will do. There is no one more faithful than Him. He is completely integrous to His word.
That is why I love to read the Bible. It is a treasure trove of promises just waiting to be accessed through faith in Jesus.
“For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.”
2 Corinthians 1:20 AMPC

This brings such comfort for those who are in Christ but should also serve as a warning to those who choose to ignore God. He will do what He says He will do.
As 2 Peter 2:9 states:
“So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.”

Food for thought!
