Psalm 106:13-18

What has God done in your life? We never want to get to the place where we forget what He has done in our lives. If you feel a distance in your relationship with God, just know, it isn’t God who has moved ?.
As I have heard before, trials are just God’s way of reintroducing Himself to us. Sometimes we don’t wait for God’s counsel and we get ourselves into all kinds of trouble. We take matters into our own hands and run with it to places we should never find ourselves in.
The psalmist here alludes to a particular troubling story that involved Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. You can read about it in Numbers 16. These men rose up against Moses, along with 250 leaders of the congregation, supposing their status as leaders carried some weight. What they found out is that they were not positioning themselves against Moses, but rather against God who set Moses in the position of authority they were rebelling against. It seems that when Moses tried to reason with them, they just doubled down on their position of rebellion and got the whole congregation stirred up against Moses and Aaron.
God intervened and showed who had His backing as the ground opened up a swallowed the households of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. Then a fire came out from the Lord and devoured the 250 leaders who had offered incense whom the Lord said had “sinned against themselves at the cost of their lives.”(Numbers 16:38)
Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there, for the seed of rebellion had taken root in the whole congregation. Not learning from what had happened the day before, they rose up against Moses again and God had had enough and released a plague among the people that but for Moses’ quick thinking, would have wiped them all out. Nevertheless, 14,700 people died that day because they entertained the grumblings of one man, Korah, who found an ear in Dathan and Abiram.
Moral of this story, be careful of who you listen to, especially if they position themselves against God’s anointed. It is important to stay in the lane God has selected for you.
As recorded in both 1 Chronicles 16:22 and Psalm 105:15:
““Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.””

God means what He says, and says what He means. If it is not in your area of control, leave it alone and trust that God is working His will in all situations. We don’t want to unwittingly position ourselves against God for that never ends well.
Food for thought….
