Psalm 132:6-12

If we had lived back in the day, we would have had to travel to where the Tent of Meeting—or later, the Temple—was in order to worship God. Yet now, we are that temple because of what Jesus has done for us. Jesus explained this to the Samaritan woman at the well:

“Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.””
‭‭John‬ ‭4‬:‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

That time has come, and everyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord now has access to the Father.

We are told that we must worship Him in spirit and truth.

Worshipping Him in spirit is now possible because our spirit has been reborn—born again—through Jesus. John 1:12 states it this way:

“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”

And we worship Him in truth when we walk in truth, obeying His commands. God’s Word and His ways are truth. In the words of Jesus:

“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.””
‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus then declares that He Himself is the truth and the way:

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

That is why the author of Hebrews tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace:

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

We have access to the King! We can pray to Him, anywhere, anytime, and He hears us. And in the words of John:

“I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.”

I am always amazed when I hear how much people are willing to pay just to have an audience with someone famous—and yet we have open access to the Most Famous One! Never forget, it is only God who has the power to make things happen. As stated in Revelations:

“This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open:”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I want to be in His corner. How about you?
