Psalm 138:4-6

How is it that every king will thank the Lord? In Habakkuk, the Lord tells us why:
“For as the waters fill the sea, the earth will be filled with an awareness of the glory of the Lord.”
Habakkuk 2:14 NLT

How can the whole earth become aware of the glory of the Lord? Many have to see something before they will believe it. I am not sure what will happen to capture everyone’s attention, but I do know that because God said it, it will happen. And these days, nothing happens without the whole world becoming aware of it through social media.
We must remember that God always reveals ahead of time what will happen. Consider what He said through the Prophet Amos:
“Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.”
Amos 3:7 NLT

It is amazing to reflect on all the spoken promises of God that have been fulfilled—words delivered by prophets hundreds of years before their completion. The Bible is also filled with prophecies yet to be fulfilled. We must remember that true prophets of the Lord seek no recognition for themselves; rather, they are compelled by the Holy Spirit to speak the words He gives them and share the visions He reveals.
Jeremiah, known as the weeping prophet, grew weary of the people’s rejection. In his words:
“O Lord, you misled me, and I allowed myself to be misled. You are stronger than I am, and you overpowered me. Now I am mocked every day; everyone laughs at me. When I speak, the words burst out. “Violence and destruction!” I shout. So these messages from the Lord have made me a household joke. But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it! I have heard the many rumors about me. They call me “The Man Who Lives in Terror.” They threaten, “If you say anything, we will report it.” Even my old friends are watching me, waiting for a fatal slip. “He will trap himself,” they say, “and then we will get our revenge on him.” But the Lord stands beside me like a great warrior. Before him my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten.”
Jeremiah 20:7-11 NLT

Welcome to the life of those with the prophetic gift! Most true prophets suffer greatly, for most people do not want to hear the truth. My husband is one of those with a prophetic calling, and he will often preface what he says with this statement: “I have a word from the Lord for you. Do you want to hear it?” As has been said, “Prophets just deliver the mail we refuse to pick up.”
We need only to look at what was done to Jesus. Prophets are seldom popular, because they are beholden to the One who is righteous and true, and they fear Him more than they fear man—an essential quality for those who speak on God’s behalf.
Jesus gave the church gifts in the form of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers—people meant to equip us for the days ahead. God also gave us the Holy Spirit, who leads and guides us—a partial fulfillment of the promises found in Joel:
““Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike. And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth— blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said. These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called.”
Joel 2:28-32 NLT

Perhaps what Joel is talking about is what will capture the world’s attention! Remember, some must see before they believe.
