Romans 5:6-11

We were helpless in our sinful state, completely separated from God and destined for eternal damnation—but Christ! Jesus did for us what we could not do for ourselves. He saved us by paying the price necessary to satisfy God’s righteous, holy, and just standards. He died for us, offering His sinless self while we were still sinners.
That is how much God loves us. Not only was God willing to send His Son Jesus to die for us, but Jesus was willing to personally endure the cross for those who were still considered His enemies. Who dies for his enemies? Jesus did.
And since we have now been made right with God through Christ, there is no condemnation. Jesus didn’t go through all of that only to turn around and condemn us. His sacrifice was complete. Our sentence was pardoned. The price was paid in full. There is no longer any debt to pay other than the debt to love God and love one another.
As we spoke about in the last post, we have already passed from death to life. Our friendship with God has been restored. We who were once separated from Him have now been reconciled to Him through Christ.
How can we not praise God for His incredible love, mercy, and kindness extended to us? While we were helpless, He came to our rescue. While we were sinners, Christ died for us. While we were His enemies, He made a way for us to become His friends.
Don’t pass up His invitation to life. The price has already been paid. Receive the gift.
