Psalm 107:39-43
God always looks out for the ‘little guy’. I love this portion of Scripture for it shows how God deals with the oppressor while taking care of the oppressed. He deals with ‘princes’ pouring out contempt on them who despitefully use others for their personal gain. Certain career politicians come to mind…they should take note!
The godly are certainly glad when the wicked are struck silent and the wise do indeed take it to heart. We can clearly see in the history recorded of the Israelites, the faithful love of the Lord.
That is the importance of reading the Bible. It gives us encouragement in times of oppression because history has proven that God will not allow it to go unchecked, especially when His people cry out to Him. I am grateful for the unfailing love of the Lord and His continued care over those who call Him Lord. Don’t lose hope. He will come through for you. History continues to prove that!
