Psalm 106:4-12

May we never get to the place where we are not impressed by God’s miraculous deeds. And may we never be so cynical as to not believe when someone tells us of His wonderful miracles.
The Israelites got another chance, not because they were any better than anyone else, but rather, as the Scripture says, “to defend the honor of His name. Moses often interceded for them and would remind God of what He spoke over His people when He was about to destroy them, for they were a stiff-necked people (God’s words). God often relented for the honor of His name.
You see, God is completely integrous. He is “not a man that He should lie” as the Scriptures say. He can be trusted to do what He says He will do even if only for the honor of His name.
There are times we plead with God to do something, which He will at times because of His mercy, but His honor is not something to be taken lightly. According to God’s word, blessing fall upon those who live in obedience to His ways and curses fall on those who disobey. (Take a look at Deuteronomy 29). In God’s love for us, He warns us of things that will lead to our good and things that will lead to our destruction. That does not make Him an ogre, rather a loving parent. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Pretty simple, right? But how often do we test those limits? How many times do we find ourselves in consequences of our own making? It is in those times that we must quickly repent and throw ourselves upon the mercy of God which is also legendary.
Moses made it very clear:
““Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.””

What will you choose? Life or death? Your actions reveal your choice and faith without works is dead.
