Psalm 92:8-11

Life is about who you align yourself with. We know that God is all powerful and we know what has happened to those who try and oppose Him and His will. As we read about people’s life stories in the Scriptures, we find that though life can be difficult at times, God always comes through for those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them (Romans 8:28).
I cannot say the same for the wicked. As the Psalmist declares, God’s enemies will surely perish. The question then becomes, “Do we really want to pick that fight?”Oh, we can try and pretend that God doesn’t exist and lie to ourselves, but no matter how hard we try and fool ourselves, we will eventually be faced with the reality of standing face to face with the One we denied.
People’s actions remind me of a pet iguana my daughter had growing up. This iguana was the funniest creature. When you were bothering him, he would just close his eyes and pretend you weren’t there. It was his way of ignoring you. After a while he would open his eyes, but seeing you were still there, he would shut his eyes again.
Elvis Presley is quoted as saying, “Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t going away.” So true!
Some people live their whole lives this way. Instead of facing reality, they would rather deny the truth and make up their own version of reality that suits their life choices. That never ends well.
Consider this anonymous quote, “The truth is still the truth even if no one believes it, and a lie is still a lie even if everyone believes it.”
Why not learn the truth? There are less surprises that way ?
As Myles Munroe once said, “The greatest failure in life is being successful in the wrong assignment.”
Food for thought….
