Psalm 91:14-16

This is quite the promise! God will rescue those who love Him and He will protect those who trust His name. God takes our trust in Him seriously and will not let us down for the honor of His great Name.
What does it mean to love the Lord? Jesus said that those who accept His commandments and obey them are the ones who love Him in John 14:21. To love Him is to obey Him.
When told His family was waiting outside to speak with Him, listen to Jesus’ response in Matthew 12:48-50:
“Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!””

Those we who stick their neck out for God will find that God will do the same for them.
Now what does it mean to trust God? To trust in someone is to have a firm belief in the truth and reliability of someone knowing that whatever is put in their hands is safely taken care of. Consider what Peter said about Jesus in 1 Peter 2:21-23:
“For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;”

Jesus kept entrusting Himself to the Father to such an extent that Jesus was willing to endure suffering without retaliation, leaving those matters in the Father’s hands, and complete the mission for which He was sent by dying for us knowing that God would not leave Him in the grave.
That is some serious trust and we are called to do the same with whatever is troubling us. We are not to take vengeance but rather leave matters in God’s most capable and judicial hands for “Vengence is Mine, I will repay, “ says the Lord (Deuteronomy 32:35)
To trust something is to actually put your full weight on it much like you do when you sit down on a chair fully expecting the chair to hold up your weight.
God will rescue and honor those who put their full weight on Him and grant them a long life giving them His salvation!
Who better to love and trust?!
